Sensational: Michael Olise to Liverpool set to trigger blockbuster sale | OneFootball

Michael Olise is once again linked with a move to Liverpool. His arrival could trigger a truly blockbuster sale from Anfield.

SportBild report Liverpool want Michael Olise from Bayern Munich. That won't shock many people - of course they want him, everyone wants him. Olise is one of the world's best players and a genuine Ballon d'Or contender.

But the Reds do have an extra reason to sign him. Mohamed Salah's exit has left them short on the right side, especially as they failed to land their preferred targets to replace him.

In fact, Liverpool didn't sign any right-wingers this summer and currently have zero players who naturally play the role. We do expect that to change in 2027 and Olise will correctly sit at the top of the shortlist.

SB aren't the only ones reporting that, either. Christian Falk has also claimed that the Frenchman tops Liverpool's target list.

And it seems that it wouldn't be the only blockbuster deal if it happened.

Florian Wirtz x Michael Olise

The SportBild report makes it clear that Bayern remain very interested in Florian Wirtz. There's a belief that if Olise were to head to Anfield, Wirtz would be available to go the other way.

It's something that continues to make more and more sense. Wirtz has struggled to fit in at Anfield and while he's generally be fine, he hasn't come close to replicating his Bayer Leverkusen form.

A move back to the Bundesliga may suit everyone. Olise would get his big move, Wirtz could head back to a league he knows works for him. Bayern wouldn't just lose a star player but get a dream signing in return. Liverpool would immediately have a new playmaker and one who's proven in the Premier League.

So expect to hear a lot more about this potential double deal. Bayern don't want to lose Olise but getting Wirtz back makes it a lot more palatable, potentially lifting Liverpool ahead of Real Madrid in negotiations for the winger.

And given the prices involved, it's a solid way for everyone to reduce their overall financial outlay. Honestly, the more pieces you consider here, the more the puzzle seems to fit together.

One to watch out for in 2027. No question about that.
