Sereias da Vila have overhauled their backroom team, with fitness coach Rafael Dohnal departing and club doctor Luiz Mourão also moving on.

According to Diario Do Peixe, Dohnal confirmed his exit on Thursday, having been at Santos since July 2024. The CBF A Licence holder previously worked at São Paulo, Água Santa, Portuguesa Santista and Jabaquara.

On Instagram he said he had chosen to close a major chapter, thanking Santos, the Sereias, coaches and staff for trust and learning. He highlighted two personal milestones, winning at Vila Belmiro and a Brazil call-up, which he said he will always treasure.

With Dohnal gone, Isabella Matos remains in the fitness team and Celso Antonio da Silva dos Santos, formerly of Fortaleza, has been hired to fill the role.

The medical department has also changed, as Mourão leaves the women’s team to return to the men’s youth divisions where he began in 2019. In a post he expressed gratitude, said he had helped the Sereias’ restructuring on their top-flight return, and noted the introduction of serial ergoespirometry in pre-participation testing to bolster safety and guide coaching work.

Doctors Alexandre Vianna and Mariana Paro stay on, while Dr Fernando Hess Câmara Melo and Abdel Shadid Eid Vargas join. The women’s medical unit now comprises four doctors.
