Bayern Munich forward Serge Gnabry has signed a new contract running until 2028.
The 30-year-old’s previous deal had been due to expire at the end of the current season, prompting speculation over his next move.
The extension will take Gnabry beyond a decade at the Allianz Arena and reaffirm his importance to the club’s plans.
Gnabry has been a consistent contributor this season despite competition for places in Bayern’s attacking line.
He has bagged seven goals and eight assists across 26 appearances in all competitions this season.
The German international said the decision to extend his stay was a natural one. He described contract talks as positive from the outset and stressed how settled he feels in Munich.
Gnabry admitted he could not have imagined reaching a 10-year milestone when he first arrived at the club.
Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund praised Gnabry’s influence on and off the pitch. He highlighted the attacker’s versatility, pace and quality in front of goal.
Gnabry has made 311 competitive appearances for Bayern since joining from Werder Bremen in 2017.
He has tallied 100 goals and 69 assists during that period.
His honours haul includes six Bundesliga titles, two DFB-Pokal trophies and the Champions League.
Gnabry also played a key role in Bayern’s Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup triumphs.
Bayern’s decision to extend his contract removes uncertainty ahead of a busy end to the season.
They next face Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga before a DFB-Pokal quarter-final against RB Leipzig.
With Gnabry committed for the long term, Bayern can focus fully on their pursuit of domestic and European success.
