Sérgio Conceição set to replace Laurent Blanc as Al-Ittihad head coach | OneFootball

According to a report from Foot Mercato, Sérgio Conceição is set to be appointed as the new coach of Al-Ittihad. The Portuguese manager, who was most recently in charge of AC Milan, is expected to replace Laurent Blanc at the helm of the Saudi Pro League club. The former Lyon manager has recently been relieved of his duties.

The former Porto boss is currently unemployed after he was sacked by the Rossoneri. He didn’t have the best time in charge of the Milanese club and was dismissed from his duties after just 31 games in charge of the Serie A outfit. The former Nantes head coach left the role at the end of the last season.

Al-Ittihad are now set to take advantage of the coach’s unemployed status. An agreement has been reached between Conceição and the Saudi Arabian outfit for the Portuguese coach to take charge. The manager will now fly to the Middle East ahead of being formalised as the club’s new head coach.
