Sergio Ramos arrives in Seville as due diligence advances on Sevilla purchase

Sergio Ramos has arrived in Seville to advance a potential purchase of Sevilla. His fund, Five Eleven Capital, has hired KPMG to scrutinise the club’s books, and an initial offer is said to exceed 400 million euros, subject to the review and the team remaining in Primera División.

Speaking to Canal Sur Radio, president José María del Nido Carrasco said he alone blocked Ramos’s January bid to return after leaving Rayados de Monterrey. He argued it was incompatible to be in the first-team while seeking to become majority shareholder, and that LaLiga would still impute a minimum salary based on past contracts, which Sevilla cannot absorb. He added it would not be ethical for a would-be owner to work under head coach Matías Almeyda.

KPMG’s early findings point to negative equity, with dissolution avoided through the CVC loan and earlier financial adjustments. The audit began weeks ago and is ongoing. So far, no hidden debts or serious legal issues have been identified, keeping the process on track.

The proposal would hold only if the figures align with the review and Sevilla stay up. Ramos’s familiarity with the club’s structure aids meetings with staff, the academy and the sporting department. Progress also depends on the debt being as declared and Five Eleven Capital having the required liquidity.

On the pitch, Sevilla remain in a difficult spell under Almeyda, who faces up to seven matches of suspension. The risk of relegation is real, and could weigh on the final valuation.
