Sergio Ramos not planning Gulf move as Sevilla bid advances

Sergio Ramos continues to train daily after parting company with Rayados de Monterrey in January. Nearing 40, the centre-back is not planning a move to Qatar or Saudi Arabia and remains involved in a bid to buy Sevilla FC.

He flew from Madrid to Seville last week. Marca reports that he has offers from Qatar and Saudi Arabia, yet that path is not in his immediate plans and he is seriously considering retirement.

His investment group, Five Eleven Capital, is preparing an initial offer of 400 million euros for Sevilla FC, conditional on the club staying up. Relegation would see the figure cut by more than half.

President José María del Nido Carrasco said Ramos offered to return, but the club rejected it. He considered a player role incompatible with a prospective owner role, and added that registration limits meant he could not have played for free, stressing the decision was his.

Ramos is keeping fit to leave every option open before a final call. He would only play in Spain for Sevilla or Real Madrid and does not wish to move far from his family, which further narrows the market. For now, he is maintaining his fitness and assessing proposals while his off-field project edges forward.
