German club Borussia Dortmund faces a significant challenge in retaining its star striker, Serhou Guirassy, beyond this season. The Guinean international is reportedly open to a high-profile move to a major European club, with Chelsea Football Club having already taken concrete steps to secure his signature.

According to a report from the German newspaper Bild, officials from the London-based club have initiated contact with the 29-year-old forward's representatives to discuss his future plans. It is believed that Guirassy, a key player for the Syli National, is seeking a highly lucrative contract that would represent the pinnacle of his professional career.

While a transfer during the January window is considered unlikely, the Premier League side is reportedly prepared to trigger the player's release clause—set at 50 million euros—in the summer. Additionally, Chelsea is said to be willing to meet the striker's substantial wage demands.

Currently under contract with Dortmund until June 2028, Guirassy earns an annual salary of 9,430,000 euros in Germany. His on-field performance this season has been impressive, contributing 9 goals and 4 assists across 19 appearances in all competitions. His current market valuation is estimated at 45 million euros, a figure that underscores his status as one of the most sought-after forwards likely to be available in the upcoming transfer window.
