Fiorentina and Atalanta will kick off the final round of 2025-26 Serie A fixtures on Friday evening when they take each other on at the Stadio Franchi, but the visitors are the only one of the two sides who can improve on their current league position.
Atalanta are guaranteed to finish the season in seventh place, unable to catch Juventus 10 points above them in sixth, and unable to be overtaken by Bologna in eighth on account of their head-to-head record.
Fiorentina find themselves in 15th place ahead of kick-off after a complicated start to the 2025-26 campaign, but could potentially lift themselves up to 12th with a victory on Friday.

The Viola are coming in off the back of a surprise 2-0 victory away against Juventus last weekend, while La Dea were beaten 1-0 by the aforementioned Bologna in their most recent league fixture.
Moise Kean is not expected to return to the starting line-up having missed the last six league matches with a shin injury, Roberto Piccoli is expected to lead the line instead. Manor Solomon could also keep his place in the Fiorentina attack.
For Atalanta, this is an opportunity to move things around: Marco Sportiello is in line for a rare opportunity in goal, and there could be several alterations to the midfield and attack, with Raoul Bellanova, Yunus Musa, Lazar Samardzic, Kamaldeen Sulemana and Gianluca Scamacca hoping for starts.
