Real Madrid could have been handed an unexpected opportunity in the transfer market after Dusan Vlahovic was offered to one of Spain’s biggest clubs ahead of the summer window.

According to journalist Matteo Moretto in a report for MARCA, the Juventus striker is still struggling to reach an agreement over a contract renewal, increasing the chances of a high-profile departure in the coming months.

The journalist states that Vlahovic was recently offered to either Real Madrid or Barcelona, with Atletico Madrid completely ruled out of the conversation.

“He has been offered to a big team in Spain, and it’s not Atletico de Madrid,” says Moretto.

Notably, Juventus are becoming increasingly concerned about the striker’s contract situation, especially because his current deal expires at the end of the season and no breakthrough has been reached regarding an extension.

That situation could open the door for clubs looking to strengthen their attack without committing to an enormous transfer fee, and Barcelona are naturally emerging as one of the most logical destinations.

For what it is worth, the Catalan giants are searching for a long-term centre-forward and their financial situation has already made deals involving players such as Julián Alvarez extremely difficult.

This places them in an ideal position to sign the Serbian forward ahead of Los Blancos.

Real Madrid, for now, are not actively searching for a new striker at this moment, even though the chance to sign a player of Vlahovic’s calibre could be tempting.

From a sporting perspective, a move to the Santiago Bernabéu currently looks difficult because Kylian Mbappe has fully established himself as the main attacking reference

On top of that, Endrick is set to return following his loan spell at Olympique Lyonnais, while several other attacking players are already competing for places in the frontline.

Because of that, there is currently no obvious pathway for Vlahovic to secure a leading role at Real Madrid unless major departures take place in attack.
