Inter are the new Serie A leaders alongside Roma after sweeping Lazio aside 2-0 with Lautaro Martinez and Ange-Yoan Bonny goals.
The Nerazzurri were coming off two harder than expected victories over Verona and Kairat Almaty, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Matteo Darmian and Raffaele Di Gennaro still out of action, and Marcus Thuram only fit for the bench. The Biancocelesti’s ever-growing injury list included Nuno Tavares, Matteo Cancellieri, Taty Castellanos, Samuel Gigot, Nicolò Rovella and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, while Alessio Romagnoli passed a fitness test to start.

Lazio were unbeaten in six and had kept four consecutive clean sheets, but that run was ended within three minutes at San Siro. Alessandro Bastoni robbed Gustav Isaksen to find Lautaro Martinez, whose slightly scuffed finish from inside the area looped into the far top corner. It was his second goal of the week, but his first in five Serie A games.
Lautaro Martinez also nodded over from a Federico Dimarco free kick, while Mattia Zaccagni cut inside to fire just over from the edge of the box.
Petar Sucic volleyed a Nicolò Barella cross wide of the far post, while Manuel Akanji fired over from a Denzel Dumfries cushioned lay-off.

Yann Sommer got down to smother a Matteo Guendouzi snapshot after the restart, while Lautaro Martinez ballooned over after a give and go with Barella.
Inter did double their lead soon after, as Dimarco rolled across a perfectly weighted pass from the left for Bonny to tap in at the back post from six yards.

Piotr Zielinski had also drilled in from the edge of the area on 66 minutes from a Carlos Augusto assist, but the goal was disallowed following a VAR review for Dimarco’s handling offence.
Pedro swept just wide on the half-volley for Lazio, and Mario Gila went incredibly close when his header from a free kick bounced off the inside of the far post, but the goal-line technology confirmed it had not completely gone over the line.
Ivan Provedel used his legs to parry a Carlos Augusto angled drive, but Sommer also had to make a big save on Luca Pellegrini after the inspired Zaccagni pass sent him clear.
