Luca Pellegrini, Elseid Hysaj, Valentin Castellanos, Nuno Tavares and Nicolò Rovella were unavailable for Lazio with the latter suffering from muscle fatigue from the afternoon.

Udinese were without Isaak Touré and Razvan Sava, but Maduka Okoye returned between the sticks and played his first game in 2025.

The Bianconeri had a strong start: Ivan Provedel blocked a Thauvin shot from outside the box, but the French striker gave Udinese the lead a few minutes later after a counter-attack led by him and Lorenzo Lucca.

The Italian striker tried to break the deadlock with a bicycle kick attempt but found his teammate all alone inside the box, scoring one of the easiest goals of his career.

Lazio reacted with their captain, Mattia Zaccagni, who saw Okoye produce the save of the night at the far post. The home side equalised from the resulting corner, with Romagnoli making his way at the far post to make the most of a Mario Gila header.

Lazio coach Marco Baroni replaced Loum Tchaouna with Tijjani Noslin during the break, and the Dutchman’s impact on the game was impressive. Lazio created the best chances after the break.

Hassane Kamara prevented Zaccagni from taking a shot just a few centimetres from the goal line, while Isaksen and Guendouzi earned corner kicks with attacks on the right-hand side of the pitch.

Udinese’s best opportunity in the second half was a Jordan Zemura free kick, which Provedel deflected for a corner.

Not even Pedro’s introduction from the bench helped Lazio score the winner, which means the Biancocelesti remain fifth in the table, just one point below Juventus.
