Lazio and Napoli are forced to completely revamp their attacks for this European showdown, as both are decimated by bans from the Supercoppa.
It kicks off at the Stadio Olimpico at 17.00 GMT.
Both teams are still smarting after the disappointment of the Supercoppa Italiana Final Four in Riyadh, as Lazio were crushed 3-0 in the semi-final by Inter, then Napoli lost the Final in stoppages after Giovanni Simeone had been sent off.
As the cards from that tournament carry on to Serie A, Simeone, Kvicha Kvaratskhelia and Jens Cajuste are all suspended for Napoli.
Alex Meret, Natan and Mathias Olivera are injured, with Victor Osimhen and Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Walter Mazzarri sticks with his new three-man defence, but a more protected 3-5-2.
Lazio are not faring much better, as Ciro Immobile and Mattia Zaccagni sit out bans, with defender Patric still on the treatment table.
It is therefore an all-new trident attack with Gustav Isaksen, Felipe Anderson and the returning Taty Castellanos.
The Aquile have won their last four Serie A matches and are two points ahead of Napoli in the table.
