Alvaro Arbeloa has hit troubled waters at Real Madrid of late, with performances and results not going the team’s way, and matters being made worse by injuries.

While they did win last night against Celta Vigo, it came after back-to-back league defeats against Osasuna and Getafe, and the display, once again, was far from impressive.

As such, there have been rumours in recent weeks suggesting doubts about Arbeloa’s continuity beyond this season are growing within the club offices.

And, AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri has been mentioned as a possible candidate to take over as the next head coach, with Real Madrid having tried to rope him in twice in the past.

Speaking to the media earlier today, Allegri responded to the rumours about him being a target for Real Madrid after this season.

The Italian tactician made it clear that he was happy with the Rossoneri, where he has a contract until 2027.

“I’m happy at Milan and I’m also under contract until 2027,” Allegri said, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

The manager further added that AC Milan were already working to improve the squad for next season, suggesting he was involved in the team planning and was not looking to leave.

“The club is working hard to keep improving the squad for the next year,” he mentioned.

It must be noted that, for now, there is nothing concrete with regard to Real Madrid’s alleged interest in Allegri. After all, former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is also seen as a possible candidate for the Santiago Bernabeu hotseat.

Moreover, Arbeloa could find himself in charge next season as well if he manages to lead the team to trophies come the end of the season.
