Como produced a commanding performance to beat Sassuolo 2-0, capitalising on an early breakthrough and controlling the match throughout at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia.
Cesc Fàbregas’ side set the tone from the opening minutes with sharp one-touch combinations, moving the ball crisply and pinning Sassuolo back. Jesus Rodriguez twice threatened early on, forcing Arijanet Muric into strong saves, while Alberto Moreno also went close as Como pushed for the opener.

The breakthrough arrived on 14 minutes. A short-corner routine caused confusion in the Sassuolo box, and when a rebound dropped at the feet of Anastasios Douvikas, the forward reacted quickest to tap in from almost on the line. Como continued to carve out chances, with Nico Paz denied by Muric and Jayden Addai also seeing an effort kept out.
Sassuolo struggled to settle but nearly hit back through Nemanja Matic, whose low drive drew a superb save from Jean Butez. Moments later, Andrea Pinamonti’s strike was blocked bravely before another Sassuolo corner came to nothing.
Como slowed the tempo effectively before half-time, keeping possession and forcing Sassuolo to chase. The visitors’ frustration showed, with bookings for Ismael Kone and an earlier caution for aggressive play.

The second half began with another Sassuolo blow as Domenico Berardi was replaced by Cristian Volpato. Moments later, Como doubled their lead. A clever pass released Alberto Moreno, who ghosted in to head into an empty net from close range after Muric was stranded, making it 2-0 on 53 minutes.
Muric prevented further damage with an outstanding stop to deny Douvikas shortly after, but Sassuolo failed to create meaningful momentum. Grosso turned to his bench, introducing Luca Moro and Alieu Fadera, yet Como’s organisation held firm.
Late crosses from Josh Doig and sustained pressure brought corners but no breakthrough, as Como closed out a well-earned victory with composure.
