Gianpiero Piovani's Inter fell at the semi-final stage of the Serie A Women's Cup. The Nerazzurre were beaten by Juventus, despite a spirited display. Inter came at the Bianconere early into proceedings but fell behind on the stroke of half-time to a Cambiaghi goal, as she headed home from a free-kick by Brighton. Piovani shuffled the back and Inter began to press, but Juventus doubled their lead after a good move involving Girelli and Schatzer, both of whom had come on just a few moments prior. Schough's introduction into the game spurred Inter back into action, as they halved the deficit through Wullaert. Late on, Piovani's side attacked ceaselessly, shutting Juventus into their own penalty area. The chances came raining down: Detruyer's shot was blocked on the line, and De Jong made three stunning stops to deny Wullaert, Cziszar and Merlo. The final chance of the day fell the way of Van Dijk in added time, but she failed to hit the target. It ended 2-1. Inter played brilliantly and were unlucky not to find the equaliser, but they are out of the Serie A Women's Cup.
