Série B executive hints Flamengo do not want Novorizontino in top flight | OneFootball

After Novorizontino’s 0-0 home draw with São Bernardo in Brazilian Série B, club executive Edgard Montemor implied Flamengo would not relish the side reaching Série A, voicing frustration over a penalty appeal that went unanswered.

According to Coluna Do Fla, Montemor questioned perceptions about Grêmio Novorizontino’s small fanbase, the city’s size and travel distance, stressing that such matters are not the club’s concern. He added that he wanted the competition to be settled on the pitch.
