The line-up for the Serie B promotion play-off final has been set, as Catanzaro secured their spot after defeating Palermo on Wednesday evening, and will go on to face Monza to battle it out for a spot in the top flight for 2026-27.
Catanzaro were beaten 2-0 by Palermo on Wednesday night, but still secured qualification to the play-off final thanks to their 3-0 victory at home in the first leg. Joel Pohjanpalo and Rui Modesto scored the goals for Palermo last night, Pietro Iemello (x2) and Mattia Liberali scored the goals for Catanzaro over the weekend.
Catanzaro finished the Serie B regular season in fifth place, and therefore had to go through an extra round of the play-offs, defeating Avellino 3-0 in a single-legged knock-out match earlier this month.

They will now go on to face Monza for a spot in Serie A next season. Monza finished the regular season in third place in Serie B, which meant that they qualified directly for the play-off semi-finals. They were held to a 2-2 draw by Juve Stabia in their first leg away from home and claimed a 2-1 victory in the second leg on Tuesday night.
Catanzaro and Monza will go on to face each other over two legs of the play-off final later this month. Catanzaro will host the first leg on Sunday, May 24 and Monza will have the home advantage for the second leg on Friday, May 29.
