Manchester United will entertain Sabah at Old Trafford this Thursday night as they look to secure a win at home in the UEFA Champions League. The Red Devils were held to a frustrating 2-2 draw away at Everton recently, so they would be eager to get back to winning ways in midweek.

Michael Carrick will stick with his favoured 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make some changes to his first team for this game. Hence, Benjamin Sesko could get a chance to lead the line for the Mancunian giants up top.

Defence

Senne Lammens will play in between the sticks for the Red Devils after shipping in a couple of goals in his last outing. Leny Yoro could get an opportunity to impress alongside Lisandro Martinez at the heart of Man United’s defence as they focus on keeping the visitors frustrated during the 90 minutes.

Diogo Dalot will try to impress as the right-back, while Noussair Mazraoui fills in on the other side as a makeshift left-back. Both of them need to defend their lines well before trying to offer support to their teammates up top.

Harry Maguire will be rested on the bench as he offers cover for the centre-back positions.

Midfield

Kobbie Mainoo and Andrey Santos will anchor the midfield for Man United as they look to establish their superiority over the opposition in the middle of the park and orchestrate some decent chances in and around their penalty area.

The talented trio of Matheus Cunha, Bruno Fernandes and Bryan Mbeumo will function just ahead of them as part of Carrick’s attack. All three of them need to combine well if the Red Devils are to secure a convincing win in midweek.

Patrick Dorgu and Youri Tielemans will be named on the bench as they wait for their chance to shine in the second 45 minutes if needed.

Benjamin Sesko will lead the line for the Mancunian giants up top. He has to find a way to be a real threat in the final third.

Joshua Zirkzee will be available for selection on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the final quarter of the game if required.
