Manchester United and Newcastle United continue to fight for Benjamin Sesko’s signature.

After a quiet start to the summer transfer window, Sesko has quickly become a sought-after name on the market, with the two Premier League sides prepared to go all out to win the race for his services.

Newcastle are scrambling for Alexander Isak’s potential replacement, and have submitted an offer worth €80million, including €5m in add-ons.

The Magpies are also working on convincing the 22-year-old phenom to move to St James’ Park.

Sesko is keen to leave RB Leipzig this summer and has already informed his teammates of his desire. Still, he is yet to give the green light to the Newcastle transfer.

A report in the Daily Mail states that “the longer they wait to learn if Benjamin Sesko wants to sign, the more chance there is that the Slovenian is holding out for Manchester United, who are yet to formalise an offer to RB Leipzig.”

It is added that Newcastle would like a response within the next 24 hours, having held talks with his camp. Multiple reports have suggested that the Slovenian is leaning towards joining United.

Manchester United willing to match Newcastle’s offer

The Red Devils are understood to be waiting for Sesko’s final decision before submitting their formal offer.

According to Sky Sport Germany’s Philipp Hinze, United are “ready to match Newcastle’s offer” and “everything depends on Sesko.”

Leipzig find themselves in a “top situation” as they would welcome a possible “bidding war” for their striker.

It is added that Newcastle’s offer was “attractive” for Leipzig, but they may need to adjust their payment structure to strike a deal with the Bundesliga outfit.

Meanwhile, Leipzig hold interest in Rasmus Hojlund. Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming they requested Hojlund as part of their negotiations with United over a deal for Sesko.
