Beach Soccer Worldwide (BSWW) held a beach soccer clinic on Friday morning (3) for 30 children with autism and Down syndrome, with the participation of coaching staff members and players from the six national teams involved in the El Salvador Cup: Brazil, Colombia, Denmark, El Salvador, Mexico, and Portugal. Despite the heat, the atmosphere on the field was full of fun and emotion.
“On these occasions, we learn more than we teach. These children make us look at the world in a different way. It was very rewarding to take part in this event. Congratulations to BSWW for this great initiative. It was a wonderful morning for everyone who was present,” said Chicão Castelo Branco.
In addition to the head coach of the Brazilian National Team, the Brazil delegation was also represented by fitness coach Fábio Costa, women’s national team head coach Rose Andrade, her assistant coach Kleitinho, captain Bárbara Colodetti, national teams coordinator Mão, and CBF beach soccer manager Lavoisier Freire.
The children were from the Inclusive Football Academy for Down Syndrome in El Salvador, under the supervision of Professor Efren Marenco. During nearly 40 minutes of activities, they took part in fun beach soccer skill exercises and then played a match. At the end, everyone gathered at the center of the field to take a photo with the team representatives. The event was held in partnership with INDES (National Sports Institute of El Salvador).
