In what appears to be disturbing news for OGC Nice, several members of their delegation that travelled to Belgrade to face Partizan have fallen sick.
As reported by L’Équipe, one of the members, who suffered from sickness on Thursday, required medical attention in the hospital.
Nice flew to Belgrade to lock horns with Partizan in their second UEFA Europa Conference League group-stage match on Thursday.
Before the game, several members of the crew felt the symptoms. One of the players was Marcin Bułka, who would’ve started the game under the bar for the visitors. Nevertheless, due to concerns over his health, he eventually got a place on the substitute bench.
According to what is said by the manager Lucien Favre, “five, six other players” shared the same issue, although the names of the players remain unknown. But absent from the teamsheet for Nice’s game against the Serbian opponents, Melvin Bard could be one of the affected ones.
“A player was in the hospital”, Favre confirmed. Despite the crisis, the Ligue 1 side held onto a 1-1 scoreline, racking up a precious point from an away fixture.
