Sevilla and clubs in Spain and Germany have reportedly joined the race for unwanted Lazio striker Petar Ratkov, who recently rejected moves to Southampton and Dynamo Moscow. He did so to fight for his place at Lazio.

Alfredo Pedulla reports that several LaLiga sides have asked about the 22-year-old, with Sevilla still seeking a centre-forward. Meanwhile, La Lazio Siamo Noi claims Mainz and Augsburg are monitoring him, with Mainz needing cover after Benedict Hollerbach ruptured his Achilles tendon in January.

Ratkov joined Lazio in January in a €13 million deal from RB Salzburg. Maurizio Sarri was unhappy with the signing and said he did not know the player, and the Serbian spent the second half of the season on the bench without a goal.

A bright pre-season has not altered his status. Gennaro Gattuso has reiterated that a penalty-box striker does not fit his system, preferring a more dynamic profile, and with Andrea Pinamonti joining in the coming hours, Ratkov will become redundant.

Interest is building, but it remains to be seen whether enquiries turn into formal bids in the coming hours. Lazio will be keen to find a solution before the transfer deadline.
