Real Sociedad supporters are facing spiralling costs and scarce beds for the Cup final weekend of 18 April in Sevilla. According to Diario Vasco, a central double room for the two-night stay is now about 1,100 euros and still rising.
After the ballot, roughly 25,000 tickets were distributed, including 6,797 long-standing subscribers and 15,643 drawn in the lottery, alongside club commitments. Even so, a txuri-urdin tide is expected in the city to back Matarazzo's side, with or without tickets.
With Sevilla full or prohibitively expensive, the search has stretched to Zafra at 135 kilometres away, Almendralejo at 167 and Mérida at 192. For Saturday itself, some have even looked at Jerez de la Frontera, 96.5 kilometres out. Only scattered rooms remain and most platforms flag the last few options.
The quickest route is by air, though not the cheapest. A same-day return from Loiu on the Saturday is priced around 515 euros, rising to about 616 euros if flying on the Friday.
Two train routes are viable. Donostia to Sevilla via Madrid comes in at around 500 euros. Alternatively, travel to Zaragoza then take the AVE to Sevilla in around four hours, an option available only on Saturday as there are no Friday seats, with extra cost to reach Zaragoza.
Supporters' groups reckon close to 30,000 fans will travel, many without tickets planning to watch from the fanzone. That movement is set to grow as the day approaches.
