An update on the fitness and well-being of the Sevilla squad has been provided ahead of their encounter with sixth-place Real Sociedad this weekend.

According to AS, Sevilla manager Diego Alonso will be without key players Suso and Erik Lamela, who have both picked up new injuries. In Thursday’s training session, the coach celebrated the return of goalkeeper Orjan Nyland, who has been absent in recent matches due to injury, while it was confirmed that both Lamela and Suso will miss the next match on Sunday due to injury.

The Argentine winger is suffering from a calf injury, while the Spaniard has an injury in the adductor of the right thigh. Alonso has many selection dilemmas during a difficult period for his side with key matches in La Liga and the Champions League coming up.

Suso had just become a fundamental part of the manager’s plans, while Lamela has consistently performed well on the wing. Lucas Ocampos and Dodi Lukebakio – two vital components of the attack – return from international duty and despite some fatigue, they will likely start Sunday’s clash.

The final training session ahead of the match against Real Sociedad will take place tomorrow and Alonso himself will address the media regarding any other injury doubts.
