Sevilla ‘join’ race for Zakaria Aboukhlal as deadline nears | OneFootball

Sevilla are accelerating late-window plans to add attacking depth, with Morocco international Zakaria Aboukhlal, currently at Torino, emerging as a versatile option. French reports say the club have joined the race to sign the 26-year-old, while Auxerre are also following him closely.

Aboukhlal’s profile aligns with Sevilla’s brief. Luis García Plaza’s side want a centre forward and, after Oso’s departure, a specialist for the left, so a player who can cover several roles would widen options without tying recruitment to one position.

Sevilla have also examined comparable targets. Sorriso of Famalicão is among them, as are Carlos Martín at Atlético Madrid, IK Sirius forward Isak Bjerkebo and Aston Villa’s Leon Bailey.

Born on 18 February 2000 in Gorinchem, Netherlands, to Moroccan and Libyan parents, Aboukhlal came through Willem II and PSV, featuring for Jong PSV and making two senior appearances before joining AZ Alkmaar in 2019. He played 69 Eredivisie matches there, scoring nine goals.

He then moved to Toulouse for three seasons, hitting 20 in 76 Ligue 1 games and lifting the Coupe de France in 2023. In July 2025 he signed for Torino, where he is under contract until 2029, and he represented Morocco at the 2022 World Cup.

Primarily a right winger, he can also operate on the left or as a second striker. Two footed and 1.79m tall, he offers pace, dribbling, movement and a willingness to attack space, with end product and work-rate from wide.
