The brass at The Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán have of course been extremely active this summer, with a number of their transfer market incomings having come by way of the English market.

To date, all of Sambi Lokonga, Kelechi Iheanacho and Valentín Barco have opted to swap to the English game for its Spanish equivalent.

And it owing to their deal for the latter of this trio that Sevilla have on Friday felt it necessary to issue an apology message.

In a post on their official ‘X’ account, the Andalusian outfit detailed:

‘Sorry to any @officialFPL fans for taking your defender.

As much comes with left-back Barco, whilst still on the books of Brighton, having taken his place on the benches of a whole host of FPL players, due to his status as an ideal cut-price option.
