Sevilla ‘to enquire about’ Carlos Martín as Atlético seek exit | OneFootball

Marca reports that Sevilla have asked about Carlos Martín to strengthen their attack, with Atlético Madrid looking for an exit for a forward who lacks a place in Diego Simeone's squad.

Martín is seen as cover both through the middle and on the left, addressing two open needs. Any deal would extend recent dealings between the clubs, including Julio Díaz's arrival and interest in Obed Vargas.

Sevilla have also studied alternatives, including Isak Bjerkebo, who delivered 15 goals and nine assists for IK Sirius, the former club of Robbie Ure. Leon Bailey has been sounded out, and his exit from Aston Villa could come before the deadline. Al Diriyah and Hull City are also following the 29-year-old, and both he and Bjerkebo would add positional flexibility for García Plaza's side.

Born in Madrid on 22 April 2002, Carlos Martín joined Atlético at the age of eight and debuted in LaLiga in November 2021. He then thrived on loan at CD Mirandés, scoring 15 in 40 Segunda matches in 2023/24.

Further spells followed at Deportivo Alavés and, from January, Rayo Vallecano, before a return to Atlético. He is under contract until June 2029 and has been capped by Spain at under-21 level.

Mobile and quick, he attacks space, is right-footed and can play left, right or centrally, with stronger numbers in LaLiga Hypermotion than in the top flight.
