Sevilla’s home match against Girona has been postponed and rescheduled for 4:15pm CET on Sunday, 24 hours after its original slot.
The league said in a statement it had acted on instructions from the Junta de Andalucía for security and Civil Protection reasons, with the Segunda fixture between Cadiz and Almeria, planned for 9pm on Saturday, also postponed.
Sevilla and Girona had been due to play at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan at 6:30pm CET on Saturday. The rearranged game will now share a timeslot with Athletic Club’s meeting with Levante at San Mames.
The disruption follows the earlier postponement of Rayo Vallecano’s tie with Real Oviedo because of the poor condition of the Vallecas pitch. As a result, only two La Liga fixtures will be played on Saturday.
Those are Barcelona against Mallorca at the Spotify Camp Nou and Real Sociedad versus Elche at Anoeta. The late switch is far from ideal for travelling Girona supporters, though the match remains scheduled for this weekend.
