Shakhtar Donetsk end pursuit of Flamengo’s Ryan Roberto

Shakhtar Donetsk have ended their move for Flamengo forward Ryan Roberto after holding talks.

The Ukrainian club closed negotiations once they signed Venezuelan striker Gleiker Mendoza. According to ESPN, people close to the 18-year-old want him to agree a pre-contract elsewhere, while Flamengo prefer a sale and Lille are among the clubs interested.

A leading academy prospect, Ryan Roberto is currently not being selected for Flamengo matches. He continues to use CT Ninho do Urubu to carry out his activities.

Without him, Flamengo’s under-20s beat Santos 2-1 at Luso Brasileiro on Thursday 21 in the Brasileirão Sub-20.

Their next under-20 fixture in the competition is on Wednesday 27 away to América-MG.
