South African sensation Shandre Campbell put on a stellar display for Club NXT in the Challenger Pro League on Saturday.
The 20-year-old grabbed an assist as Club Brugge’s reserve side played to a 1-1 draw with Cassius Mailula’s new club KV Kortrijk.
Campbell has played four matches across all competitions this season, featuring for both the senior and reserve team. He has one goal scored for the first team and an assist for the reserve side.
The Amajita star has been a revelation for Brugge since signing for the club in July 2024 from the now-defunct SuperSport United in his homeland.
Overall, the starlet has made four appearances for the first team and scored one goal, while he scored nine goals with three assists in 21 matches for Club NXT.
However, the player was recently denied the greenlight to report for the South African under 20 national team camp ahead of the FIFA World Cup in Chile later this month
Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos tried to intervene in a bid to convince the Belgian giants to release Campbell, but his efforts went in vain.
Meanwhile, compatriot, Mailula is yet to make his debut in the Belgian second tier after completing a loan move from MLS franchise Toronto FC.
