Manchester United made it four wins out of four under Michael Carrick on Saturday, with Tottenham Hotspur swept aside 2-0 at Old Trafford.
Winning against a low-block will have pleased the fans, with the work on the training ground under the caretaker head coach really paying dividends.
The former midfielder has hardly changed his starting XI since coming in; the only notable tweak has been Matheus Cunha‘s re-entry following Patrick Dorgu’s unfortunate injury.
Against Fulham, academy wonderkid Shea Lacey had made the matchday squad, and the youngster was expected to keep his place for Spurs’ visit to the Theatre of Dreams.
Carrick was there to witness the 18-year-old net a hat-trick last week for the U21s. However, when team news emerged, fans saw Tyler Fletcher make the bench instead of the right winger.
According to Centredevils, the Merseyside-born ace has picked up a calf injury, and he is expected to be out for several weeks.
The England U20 international has been quite injury-prone during his academy years, and coaches were all praying for him to stay fit.
However, it seems there has been a setback, and knowing his injury record, the Red Devils will not rush him back to action.
“CentreDevils understands that Shea Lacey has unfortunately picked up a minor calf injury this week which kept him out of the squad today.
“The initial scans have shown it’s not too serious, and he could return in a few weeks if all goes to plan. The club will not rush him back and will take their time with his recovery.”
With Amad and Bryan Mbeumo back and firing, there is very little need for Carrick to panic over the injury.
As for Tyler, he went on to make his first team debut on Saturday, just as his brother Jack did a few weeks back under former head coach Ruben Amorim.
