Gus Hamer is serving a two-game ban for Sheffield United after picking up his tenth yellow card of the season against West Brom on Saturday.
Sheffield United dropped two crucial points against West Brom last time out as they were held to a 1-1 draw at Bramall Lane.
The result has left the Blades with little margin for error as they chase a top six finish, but the only focus will be on bouncing back against Norwich at Carrow Road on Wednesday evening.
As well as the failure to win, Sheffield United were also dealt a major blow against Albion as Gus Hamer picked up his tenth booking of the campaign.

Whilst the attacking midfielder hasn’t hit the same heights as last season, where he was named as Player of the Year in the entire league, Hamer has still been a key figure for Wilder’s side. He has recorded 11 assists and scored twice, with his all-round game still key to the way they play.
So, the yellow card against Albion was costly, as Hamer will now serve a two-game ban, meaning he will be absent for Saturday’s trip to Birmingham along with the Norwich clash.
This is nothing new for Hamer, as his disciplinary record since he joined the Yorkshire outfit has been poor, with the ex-Coventry man picking up 33 bookings over the past few years.
Therefore, he has already missed games in the past due to accumulating yellow cards, and this is particularly annoying for the Blades as the threshold for a suspension rises to 15 after the Norwich game.
So, when FLW asked Sheffield United fan pundit Jimmy from the Blades Ramble YouTube channel about Hamer’s discipline issues, he acknowledged it was a problem, as he urged the playmaker to change his approach in games.
Ultimately, this is all down to Hamer, as whilst yellow cards are part and parcel of football, it’s very rare for an attack-minded player to be booked at this rate.

Sometimes, you have to take a yellow card for the team, but, as pointed out above, a lot of Hamer's bookings appear to be through frustration on his part and an unwillingness to get back in position to recover the ball.
So, this is something he must work on, and even though he is 28 and an experienced player, it still has to be addressed.
Most would agree that Hamer plays for virtually any team in this league, so there’s no denying his talent, but he is missing too many games through suspension.
Now, it’s down to his Sheffield United teammates to stand up and deliver in his absence for these two crucial games, and it’s vital that they get six points to really close the gap on the play-off places, even if it will be very difficult.
