Sheffield United sign Arsenal teenager Harwood on loan | OneFootball

Sheffield United have completed the signing of Arsenal’s Sophie Harwood on a season-long loan deal.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Blades this morning.

The 18-year-old full-back moves to Bramall Lane in a bid to further her development at senior level. After impressing in the Arsenal academy, Harwood signed professional terms with The Gunners earlier this year. She made two senior appearances for Arsenal in the Barclays Women’s Super League in the second half of last season.

On the international stage, Harwood has represented England at various youth levels up to and including Under-20 level.

Harwood will now hope to enjoy a regular run of first team games in Barclays WSL2 with Sheffield United.

After joining The Blades on loan, Harwood said “I’m absolutely buzzing. When I heard about this move, I was just so excited, and to finally be here feels great.

“I’ve honestly loved it. Ever since I first came in, the girls have been so welcoming, the staff as well, it’s been a bit busy moving everything from London to here but I’ve enjoyed it so much.”

Harwood is Sheffield United’s seventh signing of the summer transfer window.
