Sheffield United have completed the signing of goalkeeper Charlotte Parker-Smith on a free transfer.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Blades this afternoon.

The 29-year-old joins Sheffield United off the back of a six-year spell with SWPL 1 club Hearts. Parker-Smith was one of Hearts’ longest-serving players and she helped the club to establish themselves as a full-time professional team.

During her time with The Jambos, the player’s good performances were recognised with an SWF Team of the Season award and a Save of the Season award. Parker-Smith was also a Scottish Gas Women’s Scottish Cup runner-up with Hearts in the 2023/2024 season.

Parker-Smith has proven her quality at the top level and she will now look to provide some strong competition for the goalkeeping jersey at Sheffield United this season.

After joining The Blades, Parker-Smith said “I’m really pleased. I’ve been up in Scotland  for my whole career until now, so this is an exciting change for me. I’ve heard this league is very competitive and that will be exciting for me to play in as a goalkeeper.”

Parker-Smith could go straight into the Sheffield United squad for their Barclays WSL2 opener against Sunderland at Bramall Lane on Friday evening.
