Sheffield United have signed Leicester City midfielder Hamza Choudhury on a one-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

According to BBC UK, the 28-year-old spent the second half of the 2024-25 season on loan with the Blades, making 16 league appearances, including the Championship play-off final defeat by Sunderland. Blades boss Chris Wilder highlighted injuries and the need to strengthen at right back, believes Choudhury can cover that role and more, and felt he was arguably their best performer over his final 10 games, including the play-off semi-finals and final.

A Bangladesh international, Choudhury came through the Foxes academy and made 166 senior appearances across 11 seasons for Leicester, including three this season.

He was part of the squad that lifted the 2015-16 Premier League title and featured in the FA Cup final win over Chelsea in 2021.

Choudhury also worked under Wilder during a loan at Watford in 2022-23. He has enjoyed playing under the manager, describes the move as a big change after 20 years at Leicester, and hopes they can have a big season.
