Sheffield United have come under fire for their recent ticketing decision

Derby County recently revealed ticketing information for their upcoming trip to Sheffield United.
The Rams have started the 2025/26 campaign poorly after a summer that promised much, as John Eustace finally got the opportunity to mold the squad to his liking after securing their Championship status.
Quality operators such as Carlton Morris, Patrick Agyemang, Lewis Travis, Rhian Brewster and all came through the doors at Pride Park, building hope that Derby could avoid another relegation battle and push further up the table.
That hasn’t proven to be the case thus far however, with the Rams sitting 20th in the Championship after nine matches, with just a single victory to their name.
Next up for Eustace and Co. is a trip to Oxford United, which holds great significance because they are one of the few sides below Derby in the table.
After that come home clashes against Norwich City and QPR, which are tougher tests on paper, but the advantage of playing at Pride Park could prove favourable.
Following those contests is a visit to Bramall Lane, which has been the centre of discussion in recent times.
It was recently revealed that Sheffield United were charging £38 for a regular adult ticket to access the contest, which sparked outrage among Derby’s fanbase.
Football League World’s Derby County fan pundit, Shaun, agrees with the rest of the Ram’s faithful over how poor the decision is and that their own loyalty to the club could ultimately cost them in these scenarios.
“Rightly so Derby fans aren’t happy,” stated Shaun. “Anything over £25 is extortionate.
“£38 to go and watch two teams in the bottom five of the Championship is taking the mick out of the everyday fan and you’re pricing some really good fans out.
“The problem is, because Derby fans are so loyal, we will still turn up in numbers and sell out, which lets some clubs put up whatever price they want.
“I think it's really unfair. Anything above £25 in the Championship is extortionate. We’re not watching Real Madrid v Barcelona here. It’s Derby against Sheffield United.”
With how the league table currently looks, Derby County’s trip to Sheffield United could hold huge significance come May as to which three teams suffer relegation down to League One.
Both sides have started the 2025/26 campaign in poor fashion and will be desperate to score three points over one of the teams around them in the table.
Given how much the Rams’ faithful have had to fork out for their trip to the Steel City, Eustace’s side will have extra motivation to get a result at Bramall Lane.
It could be exactly the boost Derby need to get their season fully up and running, whilst hitting Sheffield United with another blow that could cut them further adrift from the rest of the division.
