Sheffield United could move for ex-Leeds winger Jack Clarke this summer, adding to Chris Wilder’s Elland Road contingent. The Star reports that Clarke has re-emerged as a target as the Blades seek an out-and-out left winger.

Wilder has leaned on familiar faces since returning to Bramall Lane. Jamie Shackleton signed after his Leeds contract expired in 2024.

Patrick Bamford joined as a free agent in November on a short-term deal that was extended by 18 months in January. That month also brought 2024/25 Championship title-winner Joe Rothwell from Rangers and a loan for former Leeds youngster Leo Hjelde from Sunderland.

Clarke, now 25, played alongside Bamford under Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds. He has recorded 16 goals and one assist for automatically promoted Ipswich Town this season, yet started only half of their 46 league matches and could slip down the order if heavy recruitment follows.

He first burst onto the scene in a 3-2 win at Aston Villa in December 2018, coming on at half-time and scoring after 10 minutes. Kemar Roofe won it with a 95th-minute strike.

Premier League interest followed and Tottenham Hotspur paid £10million before loaning him back. Regular football did not arrive in the 2019/20 title-winning season, with a December recall preceding loans to QPR, Stoke City and Sunderland.

After helping Sunderland to promotion, Clarke joined permanently in summer 2022. He moved to Ipswich in 2024 for £15m and has 19 goals in 85 appearances across league, cups and the Premier League.
