Sheffield United could revive interest in former Leeds winger Jack Clarke this summer as Chris Wilder seeks an out-and-out left winger, according to The Star.

Wilder has shown a fondness for ex-Elland Road players across his two spells. He has added Jamie Shackleton, Patrick Bamford and former Leeds youngster Leo Hjelde, while Joe Rothwell also arrived in January.

Bamford joined as a free agent in November on a short-term deal, which was extended by 18 months in January.

Clarke, 25, hit 16 goals and one assist for automatically promoted Ipswich Town this season. He started only half of their 46 league matches and could slip down the order if Ipswich recruit heavily for Premier League survival.

Clarke broke through under Marcelo Bielsa, coming on at half-time and scoring 10 minutes later in Leeds’ 3-2 win at Aston Villa in December 2018. That was the first of his two league goals before a £10m move to Tottenham Hotspur and an immediate loan back.

His Leeds loan was cut short in late December of the 2019/20 title-winning campaign, after which he joined QPR for the remainder, then had spells with Stoke City and Sunderland. He helped the Black Cats win promotion, signed permanently in summer 2022, then moved to Ipswich for £15m in 2024. He has 19 goals in 85 appearances across league and cups for the Tractor Boys.
