Sheffield United have signed midfielder Connie Scofield on loan from London City Lionesses for the rest of the 2024/25 season.
She is experienced in both the Barclays Women’s Championship and the WSL, coming through the ranks at Birmingham City where she made 42 senior appearances for the club, 29 of them coming in the top division.
Scofield then made the switch to Leicester City before joining Coventry United on loan during the 2022/23 season, moving to London City at the start of last season where she made 15 appearances as a regular in the Lionesses midfield during the campaign.
A former England youth team player, Scofield made her senior Northern Ireland debut late last year.
Scofield said: “I’m super happy to be here. The girls I know here are lovely and I’m sure everyone else is too. I can’t wait to play at such a lovely stadium, meet the fans, and I just can’t wait to get going.”
Head coach Ash Thompson said: “Connie ticked a lot of boxes for the kind of player we were looking to bring in. She’s tenacious, energetic and brings plenty of experience in both this division and above.
“We’re looking forward to working with her and particularly looking forward to what we feel she’ll add to our squad for the remainder of the campaign.”
