Despite facing a two-point deduction at the start of the 2024/25 Championship campaign, the Blades have embarked upon a strong introduction to the new season and find themselves situated in sixth place - before Tuesday night's fixtures.

Rather impressively, though, Chris Wilder's side are one of just two teams to remain unbeaten in league action after seven encounters alongside Blackburn Rovers, and they will believe that they have every chance at continuing that streak against Swansea.

The Blades are looking to realise their ambitions of making an instant return to the Premier League, although they were held to a stalemate away at strugglers Portsmouth on Saturday afternoon. United have not conceded in any of their last four games, which puts them in good stead for Swansea's trip to the Steel City.

Looking ahead to Wednesday night's Championship showdown at the Lane, Football League World dives into the latest injury concerns in Wilder's camp.

Chris Wilder rules Ollie Arblaster out of Swansea City match

Wilder has seemingly ruled Ollie Arblaster out of contention for United's upcoming clash, with the exciting midfielder continuing his recovery from an ankle injury.

Arblaster has missed his side's last two matches against Derby County and Portsmouth and is unlikely to feature until United's trip to Leeds United on October 18 following the international break.

When asked about any update on the length of Arblaster's absence, Wilder told the press: "No, not really. It’s week by week, really.

"Let’s get through the international break and see how it is, leading up to the two big games after the break. It’s not ‘serious’ serious. We’ve got to cope with it, and I believe we will cope with it.

"Sydie [Peck] has come in and played a part. Jamie Shackleton can play in there, Gus Hamer can play in there if we want to as well. It’s a tight squad and we have to cope and get over these mini setbacks. And show we are not just about one player and the team isn’t reliant on one player - even though he’s an outstanding young player."

Wilder noted no fresh setbacks from Saturday's draw at Portsmouth.

Jack Robinson and Tom Davies will be unavailable for Swansea City match

Jack Robinson and Tom Davies are also expected to be out of contention to feature against Swansea.

Robinson has featured on just two occasions in the Championship so far this season, having missed the last month or so with a muscle injury. Vini Souza has captained the Blades in the absence of Robinson and Arblaster.

Meanwhile, Tom Davies was recently spotted in first-team training but remains unlikely to feature for the time being.

The former Everton midfielder has spent a number of months sidelined with injury and has not played for the club since their 2-2 draw with Bournemouth in the Premier League all the way back in March.

Sheffield United have a number of players close to suspension

Another potential cause for concern for Wilder will be the number of players he has who are nearing suspensions.

The aforementioned Souza is heading into the Swansea fixture just one booking away from a one-match suspension and Wilder will hope that the Brazilian can make it through without seeing yellow.

Meanwhile, Gus Hamer and Anel Ahmedhozic are both two bookings away from a one-match suspension.
