Sheffield Wednesday are advancing in their pursuit of Liverpool winger Kieran Morrison on loan, new reports have claimed
Sheffield Wednesday's relentless transfer activity is set to roll on right until the end of the window and, in a significant new development, it has emerged that the Owls are stealing a march on a number of rival sides in the race to sign sought-after Liverpool prospect Kieran Morrison.
An action-packed summer at Hillsborough was always on the agenda in the wake of David Storch's much-welcomed takeover in May, and Henrik Pedersen has been supported with the requisite backing to lead Wednesday's squad rebuilding process going into the 2026/27 League One campaign.
A series of fresh faces have arrived in the blue-and-white quarters of the Steel City in recent months and, with the transfer window's twilight swiftly approaching, the Owls are making some serious movement in order to pinch one of Liverpool's most highly-rated young prospects on loan for the season.
This latest development comes courtesy of a recent report from Alan Nixon of The Sun - via his Patreon service - where it has become clearer who Wednesday's next hotly-anticipated recruit could turn out to be.

As per Nixon's update, the League One promotion hopefuls hold a serious interest in adding Morrison to their ranks in an effort to return to the Championship at the very first time of asking.
Indeed, it's said that Wednesday are pushing ahead of rival suitors in the intensifying race for Morrison's signature, which is reportedly the subject of admiration to a glut of unnamed clubs by Nixon, with Liverpool likely to sanction his loan exit from Anfield after journalist Pete O'Rourke revealed interest from Bristol City over the weekend.
Nixon has claimed that Wednesday have seen deals for various winger targets collapse owing to budget constraints, but hope that Liverpool decide to send the exciting teenage forward to the Steel City in the remainder of this month.
This comes after the Owls missed out on another of Andoni Iraola's fledgling talents in left-back Calum Scanlon, who has recently re-joined Cardiff City for a second loan stint despite receiving interest from the South Yorkshire side.
Morrison is widely-regarded as one of the most exciting age-group prodigies in the land right now, leaving much for Wednesdayites to be excited over if a deal can get completed in the coming days and weeks.

The 19-year-old joined Liverpool from Manchester United's youth ranks back in 2019 and has emerged as a hot prospect on Merseyside in recent times, though he's now poised to earn his stripes in the senior game after shining for the Reds at age-group level.
A pacey and direct right-sided winger by trade, Morrison can also play through the middle and his talents have earned significant recognition.
Morrison was shortlisted for the Premier League 2's Player of the Season award after scoring 14 goals from 19 outings, a record which was only bettered by Chelsea's award-winning teenage talisman Shim Mhueka, and the speedy forward's eye-catching displays were rewarded with a first senior cap for Northern Ireland in a 1-0 friendly victory over Guinea in June.
Taken on Liverpool's pre-season tour of the United States after making two senior appearances under Arne Slot last time out, Morrison earned plaudits for scoring the opener in a 4-2 win against Sunderland before appearing in further friendly fixtures with Wrexham, Leeds United and Como.
If acquired, Morrison would add to what has been an extremely busy and uplifting summer and Wednesday, in which Pedersen has been licensed with the scope and backing to bolster a depleted, threadbare squad that suffered an unavoidable relegation to League One last season.

No less than 13 reinforcements have rocked up in S6 this summer, and more are expected before the window is up. From back to front, Pedersen has landed three new goalkeepers in Joe Lumley, Ashley Maynard-Brewer and Connal Trueman and a couple of fresh faces in defence by bringing in Ricardo Santos and Sil Swinkels.
Wednesday have been particularly busy when it comes to strengthening their options in the middle of the park, of which they are now spoiled for choice. The emotional homecoming of Barry Bannan months after his initial exit for Millwall has naturally grabbed the headlines, although Jordi Liongola, Billy Mitchell, Tyler Onyango and Callum Slattery all represent exciting additions in their own right.
Meanwhile, the attack has been bolstered by completing eye-catching deals for Louie Barry, Mason Burstow and Harry Gray, though theres's a clear vacancy on the right-hand side and that's exactly where Morrison would fit in to potentially complete Pedersen's forward line.
