Sheffield Wednesday reportedly turned down a £250,000 bid for Bailey Cadamarteri, following claims of a £1M bid.
Sheffield Wednesday have reportedly turned down a £250,000 bid for Bailey Cadamarteri from Hibernian, amid claims of a £1m bid for the striker's services.
The Championship side could struggle to retain players who have attracted transfer interest this month while they remain in administration.
Henrik Pedersen's men will hope to earn an unlikely FA Cup win over Premier League outfit Brentford on Saturday amid their increasingly difficult second-tier campaign.
Sheffield Wednesday, largely thanks to point deductions, are all but certain to face relegation to League One and face Portsmouth in their next Championship fixture.

The Owls endured a difficult summer transfer window, thanks to the financial mismanagement of former chairman Dejphon Chansiri, and lost assets such as Josh Windass and Djeidi Gassama.
Now that the transfer market is open once again, the South Yorkshire side are facing the prospect of losing young stars such as Cadamarteri, who has notched two goals in 25 Championship appearances this term.
Alan Nixon reported via Patreon that Hibernian have placed an unsuccessful £1m bid for the striker, who spent the 2024/25 season on loan with Lincoln City.
However, taking to X on Friday, BBC Radio Sheffield's Rob Staton revealed: "Understand Sheffield Wednesday turned down a bid of £250,000 from Hibernian for Bailey Cadamarteri, rather than the reported £1m. No other bids have been made for any other SWFC player currently."
The Jamaica international's last goal arrived when the Owls drew 2-2 with fellow Yorkshire side Hull City on Boxing Day.

Wednesday have not won in the Championship since their solitary 2-0 victory over Portsmouth in September, epitomising the struggles Pedersen's side have encountered this term.
Therefore, players with potential, such as Cadamarteri, could be tempted to leave Hillsborough amid the Owls' financially testing circumstances.
However, the Wednesday faithful will be relieved by the latest takeover updates from their club, with the Sheffield Star reporting on Friday that the Championship outfit's preferred buyers have given further financial commitments to fund the South Yorkshire club's losses.
Although the Owls appear set to find significantly greater financial stability, Pedersen's players may still be tempted by the prospect of departing Hillsborough this month.
However, Cadamarteri could be better suited to remaining with Wednesday, as the striker is yet to fully discover his clinical edge, and a move elsewhere could hinder his progress.
The 20-year-old attracted attention in his breakout season, notching five goals and one assist across all competitions in 2023/24, including four strikes in the Championship.
Cadamarteri's loan spell with Lincoln was not as successful as he would have liked, though, as he scored five goals in 23 League One appearances.
The Jamaica international's record suggests that he could benefit from returning to the third tier with the Owls next term, rather than pursuing a move to Scottish Premiership club Hibernian.
