Sheffield Wednesday face Leicester City in the Championship at Hillsborough on Monday, 6 April 2026, with both sides in the bottom three and desperate for points in the survival fight.
Sheffield Wednesday host Leicester City with the recent league record between them favouring the visitors. Leicester won in August 2025 and February 2024, with a draw in November 2023.
The Owls come in off four defeats in five, scoring once in that run. The Foxes have been harder to beat, drawing three of their last four after a home win over Bristol City, but wins have been scarce.
Injuries bite on both sides. For the hosts, Liam Cooper and Di'Shon Bernard are out alongside goalkeeper Murphy Mahoney, while Victor Kristiansen, Aaron Ramsey and Jordan James are missing for the visitors.
This could hinge on whether the Foxes' attack can exploit fragile defending. The Owls have scored 24 and conceded 81 across 40 games, with only three clean sheets, while the Foxes have 53 goals but have shipped 62. Abdul Fatawu has been a bright spot for the visitors with nine goals and seven assists, and their 81.69% passing accuracy and 51% possession suggest they may try to control the ball. The Owls' 18.25% open-play cross accuracy points to wide deliveries as a possible route.
A win would move Leicester to 43 points and could pull them closer to safety. Victory would take the Owls to minus three points and at least trim the gap, keeping slim survival hopes alive in the run-in.
