Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani attends Roma-Inter | OneFootball

The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, is in Rome for a two-day state visit to Italy.

He met with the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella.

Yesterday, however, the royal family was present at the Olimpico for Roma-Inter, a match valid for the eighth day of the championship.

As reported by La Repubblica and Il Sole24ore, emissaries from Qatar were also present to watch the match, won 1-0 by the Nerazzurri thanks to a goal by Lautaro Martinez.

The reason for their visit is not yet clear, but every scenario is open.

The interest could concern one of the two clubs, or both.

On the Giallorossi side, for example, rumors of a possible sale by the Friedkins have been circulating for some time, despite continuous denials.

Certainly, in this climate of uncertainty, with a management void within Trigoria, the future of the club is still to be clarified. And it is difficult to believe that the Qatari delegation landed in the capital only to watch the big match at the Olimpico.
