Shelbourne FC are pleased to announce the signing of Becky Watkins ahead of the 2026 season.
A young player with excellent experience in the League of Ireland Rebecca Watkins joins the Reds from Peamount United. The 22-year-old has gained serious experience in the league with four years in Peamount United and a year with Wexford Youths. Watkins has featured in numerous Champions League and underage international fixtures. She makes the move to the Reds ahead of the 2026 season admiring the ambition and consistency in Tolka Park over recent years.
Becky looks forward to the coming season, “I’m really looking forward to getting in with the team. It’s a really strong squad and I hope to be part of that success. I was really impressed with Sean coming in and I am excited to work with him. I feel it’s a good challenge for me this year.”
Shelbourne FC Manager Sean Russell says : “We are delighted to sign Rebecca for the upcoming season. She is a player who likes to take players on and score goals. Rebecca has a fantastic ability to create chances in the final third and a fantastic work rate in and out of possession.”
Shelbourne FC Technical Director Luke Byrne adds : “Becky has great experience for someone so young. She’s been a top performer in the WPD for a number of years and was always someone who would be a threat when we played against Peamount.
