Vardy has played his last game for the club, even though they have one match left in the campaign.

Speculation surrounding Jamie Vardy's next club has taken yet another twist as it has emerged that Spanish side Valencia are interested in the Leicester City legend.

The last time that Foxes fans would ever see Vardy playing for the first-team was in Sunday's 2-0 win over fellow relegated side Ipswich Town. In his 500th appearance for the club, the 38-year-old scored his 200th goal and bowed out of the King Power Stadium as the club's GOAT.

So what next for the striker? Despite Leicester's lowly position in the Premier League, Vardy has proven with his nine goals this season that there are still some miles left in his tank at the highest level.

According to a report from The Sun, he may well continue to play in one of Europe's top leagues, but not the one that he is most synonymous with.

Valencia want Jamie Vardy

La Liga outfit Valencia are interested in signing the soon-to-be free agent this summer, as per the national outlet. They are managed by former West Bromwich Albion boss, who will know all about Vardy's goalscoring abilities from the 2023/24 campaign, when the forward led Leicester to the Championship title.

Corberan believes that the 38-year-old would work well in his counter-attacking team, using his pace to burn opposition defences on the break, as per The Sun.

Following the announcement of his imminent Leicester departure, Vardy stated that he still felt capable of playing in the Premier League and had no intentions of dropping to the Championship. Newly promoted Wrexham had been loosely linked with the ex-England number nine, but that deal has been ruled out by the Welsh club.

Of the current Premier League clubs, Crystal Palace, who will embark on their first ever European tour next season, have been linked with Vardy. The Championship's top two, Leeds United and Burnley, are also reported to be interested in him.

Corberan is using his knowledge of the English second tier to full effect as Sheffield Wednesday's Josh Windass is also a target for Valencia, according to Spanish reports.

A move abroad for Jamie Vardy feels unlikely

Vardy hasn't slammed the door on the possibility of moving away from England for the final years of his career. There will be plenty of options on the table for him, so he may as well keep plenty of them open.

However, because it is likely to be his last contract before he retires, it'd be a surprise to see Vardy up sticks and jet off to Spain.

He clearly still has things to offer teams in the top flight if they want him. There's the potential for another shot at playing in European competitions with Palace, should they make a move for him. A switch of this nature doesn't feel like a very Vardy move to make at this stage of his life.
