Sidny Cabral already catching the eye at Benfica | OneFootball

Sidny Cabral is Benfica’s first winter recruit and the full-back has quickly caught the eye under José Mourinho.

Presented before the window opened, he has trained with the club since 1 January and has already featured regularly, most recently in the 2-0 win over Rio Ave. Record writes that the Cape Verdean has worked tirelessly in training and is eager to show Mourinho he can be counted on.

He is described as happy in his new surroundings and intent on continuing his development at Benfica.

Able to operate on either flank and also as a winger, Cabral adds depth at a time when injuries have complicated the head coach’s selections.

This season, across Estrela da Amadora and Benfica, he has played 20 competitive games, 17 in Liga Portugal Betclic, two in the Taça de Portugal and one in the Taça da Liga. In 1,507 minutes he has five goals and three assists, and is valued at 2 million euros.
