After it was announced that Naby Keïta and Werder Bremen will part ways this summer, Bild reports that the midfielder’s next destination will likely be the Middle East.
The 29-year-old had been at the Olympics with Guinea and since returning is now training away from the first team after a terrible season at the Weserstadion. Bremen want to get Keïta off their pay role and there have already been requests for the midfielder.
The trail leads to either Saudi Arabia or Qatar.
Keïta joined Bremen to much fanfare last summer as he looked to get his career back on track after an injury-ridden five years at Liverpool, however, Keïta has only played five games for Bremen last season, with one start not only due to injuries but behavioural issues have also said to have kept him on the sidelines.
Once the midfielder leaves the Weserstadion, both sides will likely want to forget about this move and both will move on with relative ease. With Bremen well stocked in midfield with the permanent arrival of Skelly Alvero from Lyon this summer.
