Simon Adingra has hit the ground running at Monaco, with three goals in four Ligue 1 outings. The Sunderland loanee, signed with an option to buy, struck in the 2-0 victory over Angers.

"In general, I adapt well at my new clubs," said Adingra with a beaming smile following the win on Saturday evening, speaking to Get French Football News.

The winger began on the bench. After a goalless first half he came on and changed the game, and Angers coach Alexandre Dujeux acknowledged his impact. Monaco's unbeaten Ligue 1 run moved to six matches.

His smooth start contrasts with a difficult spell at Sunderland after a summer move from Brighton and Hove Albion. That period opened the door for Monaco to agree a loan with an option to make it permanent at season’s end.

His versatility has proved handy, with appearances at wing-back, on the left and centrally. "The manager has already played me in three positions," he said. "He picks the team and it is up to me to adapt."

"It was a great option that presented itself and I really pushed for him to come," said Sébastien Pocognoli.
