The former chairman has shared his thoughts on the Czech billionaire.

The doom and gloom of West Ham's relegation has lifted somewhat, but there is still plenty that needs to be resolved ahead of the Championship season.

As if Premier League relegation was not bad enough, David Sullivan then resigned from his position as director and co-chair of the club following allegations made about his personal life.

Daniel Křetínský, who was already a minority shareholder in the Hammers, has since increased his stake to become the largest shareholder of the club, a decision which has been welcomed by many at the London Stadium.

However, former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan has now weighed in on the Czech billionaire and has cast doubt over potential changes at the club.

With the West Ham ownership seemingly changing hands, it would suggest that Sullivan is surrendering influence to Kretinsky.

However, the former is still a major shareholder of the club, and although that might change this summer, the same pair have control over what happens at the club.

One of the first decisions that the Irons had to make following their demotion to the Championship was whether to continue with head coach Nuno Espírito Santo, who has since been given the chance to lead the club into the second tier.

Now, Jordan has explained the influence Kretinsky already had on such a decision and has warned supporters not to expect much in the way of change at the London Stadium.

"Apparently, he [Kretinsky] was the intellectual capital behind Nuno Espírito Santo staying against David Sullivan's wishes, so he's already influential," he said on talkSPORT.

"But here they are in the Championship. For all those West Ham fans, it's anybody other than Sullivan, right?

"So this guy might well be something that they feel will be a benefit to the football club, but he won't alter the stadium, he won't change the logistics. He bought into a football club that holds all the rancour from the fans."

What changes could Kretinsky make at the London Stadium?

Whether the 50-year-old has been calling the shots for some time or not, he is facing some seismic decisions in East London this summer.

While Jordan suggested that the Royal Mail chief won't alter the London Stadium, it seems that he is actually preparing to make changes to the ground.

Reports have revealed that Kretinsky is planning to remove the running track from the stadium and move the seats forward in a bid to improve the matchday experience for supporters.

However, his ambition to do so may not be so simple, given that the London Stadium remains publicly owned.

Aside from the stadium, the Irons are hoping to invest in further infrastructure, with plans to invest in training facilities being drawn up ahead of the new season.

Of course, beyond facilities, West Ham have a pivotal transfer window ahead as they aim to yield the highest possible transfer fees for players like Mateus Fernandes, Jarrod Bowen and Crycensio Summerville, who have all been strongly linked with Premier League moves.

Whether Kretinsky's ownership changes much at the club remains to be seen, but at least it has provided some sort of uplift for supporters who need something positive to cheer about.
